Position
- LASCC's Position: Oppose
- Raises property tax on rentals, homeowners, and small businesses in L.A., resulting in price increases on all types of consumer goods and services. Creates more hardships for rental owners in rent-controlled buildings unable to pass on the burden
- Average family of four would pay hundreds of dollars or more each in additional property tax
- Being proposed even though Angelenos already pay for new parks through two existing tax measures.
- There is currently still $150 million in unallocated park funds that should be used before Angeleno homeowners are forced to pay another tax hike!
Proponents
- State it's a simple extension of Prop K
- Prop K does not expire until 2026, and SP is a 908% increase over Prop K!
