Purpose
  • Requires building managers/property owners to install and provide training material to tenants on how to use a tourniquet meant for tactical combat casualty care.

Position
  • LASCC's Position: Oppose​
  • Health care plans (including dental) and insurers will be required to collect data on enrollee cultural, linguistic and health social needs to identify health disparities by July 1, 2024
  • This legislation will cost dental plans an estimated $5 million per year which will be passed on to consumers. The bill is duplicative and unnecessary since health plans are already required to collect patient demographic data. The increased cost will impact consumers without providing new benefits.
  • Legislators should be focused on how to connect the information which already exists.
