Position
- Recommended Position: Oppose
- Transient Occupancy Tax or TOT on short-term rentals. Would give taxes to public entities, local housing authorities, community land trusts, or specific non-profits to construct, own and manage housing units.
- This will cause an additional tax on our members who may choose to do short-term rentals in their own residents. Thereby, forcing their property to have more expensive to rent, pushing away businesses, and reducing profits for the property owner.
- Legislators always start small, if this bill were to pass, there’s a high chance that they may target hotels and motels next.
